Robert Plum Memorial Scholarship – $500.00 - Due April 5, 2024 to Mrs. Olson Requirements include: a sense of responsibility, a positive attitude, good character, and career motivation. Awarded Freshmen Year, Second Semester Submit an essay addressing the following: What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?
Lloyd & Marion Schoeder Memorial Scholarship –$500.00 - Due April 5, 2024 to Mrs. Olson Recommended that the student has an interest in accounting or another math related field (Engineering, Finance, Math teacher, etc) Awarded Freshmen Year, Second Semester. Submit an essay addressing both of the following: Why did you select this career? AND What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?
Hettinger Equity Legacy Scholarship – $500.00 - Due April 5, 2024 to Mrs. Olson Recommended that the student has an interest in agriculture related field. Awarded Freshmen year, Second semester. Submit an essay addressing both of the following: Why did you select this career? AND What traits do you possess that will enhance your education or future career?
Erling and Jean Dahl Memorial Scholarship – $500.00 -Due April 5, 2024 to Mrs. Olson Recommended that the student has an interest in the following areas education, particularly science and math and/or pharmaceutical studies as well, community service as a student at HHS is important. as well as, the desire to volunteer in the future. The recipient of the scholarship will need to maintain a cumulative COLLEGE GPA of 3.0 by their 3rd Semester to receive the funds. Awarded Sophomore year, Second semester. Submit a short essay addressing both of the following: Describe a meaningful volunteer experience. AND Outline your goals for Post-Secondary Education
Norman A. Smith Memorial Scholarship - $500.00 - Due April 5, 2024 to Mrs. Olson Criteria: Be from the Hettinger area OR attending Dickinson State University, have interest in an Education related degree, be interested in OR participating in (In college or High School) the Performing Arts (Band, Choir or both, Drama), be interested in or participating in (In college or High School) Leadership positions within the school (Example: Holding an office in Student Government, Student Council, FFA, FBLA, NHS, etc.), and/or is based on Need and Hardship. Submit an essay and resume: Write a short essay (300-500 words) that describes areas in your life where you demonstrated leadership and overcame obstacles either through your school, social, or family life. Resume should include a list of your activities and leadership roles.
D.J. Shults Memorial Scholarship – Two $500 scholarships - Due April 5, 2024 to Mrs. Olson Requirements: Student must be have a minimum of a cumulative GPA of 3.33, be attending a four year college or university in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree, and have demonstrated a positive attitude towards school and education for potential success. Awarded Sophomore Year, Second Semester. Submit a transcript and an essay addressing the following: The importance of having a Positive Attitude in Life
Hettinger Class of 1996 Memorial Scholarship - $250.00 - Due April 15, 2024 to Mrs. Olson In Memory of Ann Veitz and Jeremy Rhoads. Requirements: be a graduating Senior of Hettinger High School, demonstrate Financial Need, pursuing a degree in education or science, in good standing, demonstrate sound ethical and moral character, participated in band and/or choir. Hettinger Student Council Scholarship - Due April 2, 2024 to Mrs. Henderson - Student Council Scholarship Committee will be awarding a scholarship. We would like the actual scholarship to be given the beginning of the second semester/quarter of the student’s sophomore year in college. Submit a resume, which highlights what the student has done in Student Council since 9th grade. Due to Mrs. Henderson by Tuesday, April 2, 2024 The description of what the student has done can be on a separate sheet of paper. Student’s eligibility requires a cumulative GPA of a B- (2.67) or better.
